Keeping It Safe!

What is KIS about?

KIS is a peer-centered program that seeks to educate, encourage, and support gay young men in the commmunity to:

   Enable them to make informed decisions that will reduce their risk for HIV, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

   Advocate for the empowerment of sexual minority youth.

KIS is part of a HIV/AIDS & STD Prevention Program sponsored by the Camden Area Health Education Center to meet the needs of gay young men in Camden City.

What we do?

Our group meets each Wednesday to discuss issues such as: "Coming out", self-esteem, sexual identity, decision making, cultural issues, communication/negotiation, film discussions, HIV/AIDS, etc.

Group members are provided with a safe confidential place to meet to discuss issues that effect them.

Group members support and encourage each other in an informal setting to make better decisions on issues effecting the lifestyle of gay young men. The group also participates in extracurricular activities such as: Field trips and recreational activities.
